Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.

The theological thread of the Serpent and his seed runs through the pages of Scripture from beginning to end. This rival dichotomy remains in view from the day the LORD declared war on the Dragon in the garden and cast him out of God’s holy mountain [see Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14] until the day the Son of Man will come once again to crush Satan and remove his own son from Mt. Zion — Jerusalem — the City of the Great King.

In my previous posts in this series — see Post here and also here — I delved into the rebellion of the watchers [aka sons of heaven] and their unsanctioned procreation of hybrid offspring, who became the mighty kings of the antediluvian age.

I established how this particular faction of 200 watchers — according to 1 Enoch — descended upon Mt. Hermon in the days of Jared to take human wives and attempt to rule the earth by proxy through their giant offspring.

The rebel sons of God were shown no mercy by the LORD of hosts and were cast into prison — held in chains in the darkest depths of the abyss until the great day of God’s judgment. Enoch provides the insights, context, and theological backdrop to the severity of God’s unique punishment of the watchers — making examples of the fallen sons of God who once were royal members of the heavenly household. These “angels” who sinned in the days of Noah were cast into the pit [Tartarus] for their transgression.

And while it is written that the devil and his angels ultimately will share the same fate as the rebel watchers at the end of this age, it is equally apparent that the devil and his faction of angelic princes have not yet been bound in the least but obviously are still operating in both heavenly places and behind the evil empires of the earth.

Since Satan and other fallen angelic princes were not bound with the watchers before the flood, it stands to reason that the Serpent did not commit the same forbidden act of taking human wives and procreating offspring with them. In other words, Satan did not participate in the watchers unsanctioned rebellion.

At least … not yet.

Move — Counter Move

Satan is shrewd in this cosmic game of thrones and realized that his only chance to avoid his own judgment was to eliminate the seed of the woman before the Messiah was ever born, which is precisely what the watchers almost did in the days of Noah.

It is also just as likely that the Serpent initially planted the seeds of this rebellion in the minds of the watchers and persuaded them to abandon their proper domain and openly defy the universal laws governing God’s creative order. It’s not like the rebellion of the watchers wouldn’t be to his advantage — it certainly was — but at the same time the devil was able to avoid personal implication or guilt by association — buying himself valuable time to work out his own agenda.

Satan has opted to play the long game and take every conceivable path to position himself with an opportunity to devour the seed of the woman [Revelation 12:1-6]. After generations of making war with the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Judah and David, Satan was waiting on the day Messiah was born to a virgin daughter of Eve. He was working through Herod to murder all the young boys in Bethlehem. He was tempting Yeshua in the wilderness to abandon His ordained mission. He was leading the chief priests of Israel and the Sanhedrin in the conspiracy to commit murder.

And eventually Satan took matters into his own hands by entering Judas himself — the son of perdition — to finish the inside job and ensure that the the Son of God was nailed to the cross. And yet only if Satan and the rulers of this age had known what they were doing, they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory! For in conspiring to kill God’s Beloved Son they literally were fulfilling God’s redemptive plan and sealing their own fates before the courts of heaven.

Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 

9But, as it is written,“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him.”

[1 Corinthians 2:6-9]

But it already was too late, before the sun could rise on the first day of the week, the Son of God would be resurrected in power on the third day — immortal, invincible — overcoming the powers of darkness, conquering death and the grave, destroying the works of the devil, and delivering a crushing blow to the Dragon.

The Coming Hybrid Son of Satan

Once Satan saw that He could not kill the Son of God, he has been on a relentless war path, leaving a destructive trail of blood and tears in his wake, while at the same time whispering his lies into the ears of mankind and dragging as many down to hell with him as he possibly can.

The Dragon knows — better than anyone — that his appointed time is coming and that his time is short, and his skull will be crushed by the Son of God at His Second Coming.

The coming great tribulation at the end of this age will be the point in the coming future when Satan will no longer be able to prolong the inevitability of Christ’s return and his subsequent judgment, and he will act on every machination of his demented mind — holding nothing back and eventually launching an all out assault against the LORD and His Anointed.

With nothing to lose, Satan will combine every conceivable power at his disposal to resist the certain return of King Jesus from heaven to reclaim Planet Earth, much like the watchers attempted to do before the flood.

The Dragon and his alliance of 10 rebel princes will once again descend to the earth in godlike fashion offering irresistible knowledge to mankind, and having produced and prepared their own offspring as 10 hybrid kings to govern their end-times empire, the entire world will be enamored with the Beast and will worship the Dragon and deny the God of heaven.

Satan, being supreme in wisdom and more powerful than all the other evil princes will install his own human/hybrid son on the throne to rule them all — giving all power and all authority to this man of sin. The 10 rebel princes in league with the Dragon eventually will transfer all their authority to the Dragon and his seed [see Revelation 17:12-14].

The antichrist will come as the counterfeit savior of mankind in supernatural fashion — fully demonstrating himself to be “god” with many intoxicating signs and wonders. The son of Satan will convince millions to take his own genetic signature and receive his mark, which permanently perverts the genetic integrity of the human race and seals the souls of the ungodly to suffer the same condemnation in hell as the devil and his angels.

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’

Satan and his hybrid son will again seek to either transform humanity into their own perverse image or eliminate humanity altogether. Either way, Satan will be on a kamikaze mission to face Jesus in an all out war of cosmic proportions, doing as much damage as possible to the very end. Yeshua reminds us that if those days were not cut short, no human being would survive, and yet for the sake of the elect, Christ will come in flaming fire to wage war on the son of Satan and his armies and will once and for all decimate his evil empire on that great Day of vengeance.

Bound for Tartarus

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. 2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.

Before it is all said and done, Satan will have committed the same grievous abomination of the watchers by leaving his proper domain, inducing lawlessness in the earth, illicitly procreating his own hybrid son, all the while blaspheming the God of heaven to His face. Satan will take as similar path as the watchers and will suffer a similar fate.

And just as we would expect, what is the Dragon’s punishment? He and his co-conspirators will be bound in chains of gloomy darkness in the depths of the same bottomless pit for 1,000 years. The devil and his angels will be bound with the watchers for the final day of judgment when they all will be cast into the lake of fire burning forever.

The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered; for the LORD has spoken this word.The earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
5The earth lies defiled
under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.
6Therefore a curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.

On that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth.22They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.23Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and his glory will be before his elders.

The past reveals the key to unlocking the future.

Maranatha!

For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

[2 Peter 3:5-6]

The naturalist envisions modern man atop the evolutionary family tree — a more advanced version of his ancient ancestors. We have crossed technological thresholds beyond the limits of our primitive past and the intellectual inferiority of our forefathers; therefore, man must be at the apex of his existence.

The naturalist arrogantly assumes that the marvelous technological achievements of our age have never been matched or reproduced in the vastness of our past. This willful blindness precludes an alternative view of history and ignorantly narrows science and life itself into a purely materialistic framework.

The Biblical witness of the great global flood not only answers the questions about the natural condition of our planet, but also it further unlocks the deeper mysteries of universe — such as the nature of God, the human soul, and the spiritual realm filled with an innumerable host of heavenly beings — both good and evil — who war behind a veil that we cannot yet perceive.

Which is why faith is being certain of what you cannot see. Even though we naturally do not see this parallel world peering from behind the glass darkly, the Bible provides a glimpse behind the veil where we can “see” the other side through faith in God’s word. Not everything can be explained by the laws of nature. There is a supernatural realm beyond the limits of our world. Once you acknowledge the reality of the supernatural and the spiritual nature of man, you render the Darwinian paradigm dead and left to rot in its evolutionary grave.

No one will argue that we have taken a quantum leap in technological discoveries in the past 100 years and can only begin to imagine what we will see in the next 20, especially with the convergence of genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, space travel, and quantum mechanics [see GRIN technology]. But what if our modern technological revolution is only a rediscovery of ancient technology that once was well known and universally practiced in the deep past by an ancient race of superior humans?

What if we are not evolving after all, but rather devolving under the relentless decay of cosmic, nuclear, and biological entropy [see Romans 8:18-25]? What if thousands of years of genetic degeneration has reproduced only faint copies of Adam — weakened reproductions of a once superior race of humanity?

Only the Biblical worldview holds the key to unlocking the truth about the advanced civilizations that existed in the antediluvian age. The Bible reveals the true history of humanity from first-hand, eye-witness testimony.

Man’s story begins with God’s perfect creation in Adam — the son of God — the first man. Adam was in every respect an enhanced, exalted being — fashioned from the earth with God’s hand — bearing the collective beauty of God’s image — illuminated with God’s light — animated with God’s Spirit. Our first fathers would have been remarkable men, capable of incomprehensible achievements. Even after the fall, Adam and his progeny were far superior in every capacity than modern man, as we are only beginning to recover remnants of that superior knowledge and technology yet hidden for ages.

The Potency of the Pre-Flood Earth

Imagine never aging with almost perfect health and limitless brain capacity. Imagine a universal language coupled with unlimited resources and exponential efficiency. Imagine having first-hand knowledge of ancient secrets about advanced arts derived from divine origins. Imagine an age when man truly was at the apex of his existence.

Such was the antediluvian age.

From the very beginning the earth was rich, the food was plentiful, the environment was optimal, pollutants were negligible, and genetic integrity was still viable. Even with the curse of sin in effect, it was not uncommon for men to live 700 years. Knowledge abounded. The antediluvian world was an age of ancient wonders, filled with the legendary lore of godlike heroes, ruling vast advanced civilizations, and wielding technology far superior to our own.

Ancient history, both pagan and Biblical, describe an age when the gods walked among men and their godlike sons ruled the earth. Man traveled extensively and traded prolifically through a global network before the flood — navigating the skies, land and sea, sharing and innovating technology, calculating astronomical pattens with mathematical precision, building great empires, erecting temples, and multiplying upon the face of the earth. Global populations of the antediluvian age could easily have been in the billions.

We can learn a great deal from the Hebrew account of ancient history and also from modern archeological discoveries that ultimately reveal remnants of the world that perished in the flood of Noah.

We know the descendants of Cain were building cities right from the start — showing all the hallmark signs of human ingenuity and creativity [Genesis 4:17]. The Bible depicts ancient men as the originators of art, culture, music, religious worship, law, agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, government, engineering, science, weaponry and the like. These are classic characteristics of an advanced civilization right from the beginning.

Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch … His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play stringed instruments and pipes. 22Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools and instructed in the work of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.

The testimony of Enoch sheds further insight into the origin of man’s ancient acquisition of the advance arts of the watchers.

And Azazel taught men to make swords, and daggers, and shields, and breastplates. And he showed them the things after these, and the art of making them; bracelets, and ornaments, and the art of making up the eyes, and of beautifying the eyelids, and the most precious stones, and all kinds of coloured dyes. And the world was changed.
8.2 And there was great impiety, and much fornication, and they went astray, and all their ways became corrupt.
8.3 Amezarak taught all those who cast spells and cut roots, Armaros the release of spells, and Baraqiel astrologers, and Kokabiel portents, and Tamiel taught astrology, and Asradel taught the path of the Moon.
8.4 And at the destruction of men they cried out; and their voices reached Heaven.

See then what Azazel has done; how he has taught all iniquity on the earth and revealed the eternal secrets that are made in Heaven.
9.7 And Semyaza has made known spells, he to whom you gave authority to rule over those who are with him.
9.8 And they went into the daughters of men together, lay with those women, became unclean, and revealed to them these sins.
9.9 And the women bore giants, and thereby the whole Earth has been filled with blood and iniquity.

If such an advanced civilization truly did exist before the great flood, however, how can we expect to find any physical remains of this ancient world? Would we not expect that old world to have been utterly ruined in the deluge and swallowed up by the great deep and buried in the heart of the earth?

And yet what we discover is that ancient ruins did survive the flood and stand to this day as a testimony to that great deluge and the highly advanced civilizations that preceded it.

Once again, the scientific evidence confirms the Biblical narrative. As we will see, the earth has left behind some impressive ruins that can only be attributed to ancient beings of superior knowledge, size, and strength and capability.

Evidence all over the World

Archaeological

The earth literally is scattered with massive megalithic structures of classic cyclopean architecture, demonstrating masonry skill and applying advanced math in ways unchallenged by modernity. Our predecessors of the ancient past possessed the technology to quarry stones weighing hundreds of tons (sometimes over 1,000 tons), transport them over miles of rugged terrain and up mountains, mold and manipulate them to precision, cut through the hardest stone to perfection, and then lift them before fitting them together so tightly that no mortar was necessary.

The following are only a sampling of the ubiquitous presence of superior architecture left behind from the ancient past.

Astronomical

Virtually every advanced ancient civilization possessed considerable knowledge of the astronomical alignments and meticulous mechanics of the sun, moon, stars, and their constellations — typically building their temples and cities in perfect alignment and synchronicity with the equinoxes and solstices. The zodiac [or in Hebrew the Mazzaroth] can be traced back to one common point of origin before the flood [see Genesis 1:14], which means that the ancients were pioneers of the cosmic laws of physics and possessed the advanced mathematical knowledge to trace and predict with accuracy the natural courses of the heavenly bodies.

Having grown dependent on the power of computers, we fail to appreciate the level of knowledge attained and preserved by the ancients.

The modern explosion of technology is without a doubt one of the most obvious signs that we are living in the last generation and should be preparing for another satanic insurgency of angelic rebels to descend on the earth and lead the whole world into destruction — ultimately ending in another Great War and global cataclysm. Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be before the coming of the Son of Man.
