I was born in the fall of 1978 in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi — the second of four children. I was very fortunate to be raised in a loving, supportive, and creative family. My parents’ greatest gift to me was leading me into the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Their seeds of faith and truth were deeply planted in my heart and came to fruition when I was 17 years old and trusted Christ as Lord and Savior.
I later found the second greatest treasure in my life — my beautiful bride and the love of my life — Abigail. We have loved each other through the journey of marriage for nearly 25 years, raising three wonderful sons, who remind us each day that God is good, life is precious, and love never fails.
Beyond that … I am a sinner, saved by grace. Adopted as a child of God. I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb — a prisoner set free. I’ve been born again, a new creation in Christ. I have been justified by faith and I am at peace with God. I am a follower of Jesus, a bondservant of God, an ambassador of the kingdom, a steward of God’s gifts, a citizen of heaven, a student of the Bible, a pastor, teacher, a gospel preacher, and a contender for the truth.
I’m a guitar picker, a music lover, lyricist, a journalist, a blogger, a Christian apologist, a baseball purest, and a cautious conspiracy theorist.
