And by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

Our generation is beginning to see an emergence of events on the prophetic timeline that are accelerating at an exponential rate into one climatic convergence at the end of this age.
I am speaking — of course — about the coming great tribulation and the subsequent return of the Lord Jesus to reclaim His throne and regenerate all of creation.

Could we be living in the last generation before the coming of the Lord Jesus?
And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
The escalating war between Russia and Ukraine is all the buzz now — dominating the official media narrative. Funny how we suddenly forgot about Covid — just like that — it’s over in case anyone was asking.
Never mind the past two years of Covid insanity, tyrannical lock downs, economic hemorrhaging, absurd mask mandates, media manipulation and lies, big tech control and censorship, asinine vaccine mandates, gross violations of constitutional and human rights … oh and millions of lives ruined as collateral damage for the “globalists” agenda.
For the perceptive eye, Russia and Ukraine — although significant in it’s own right — is a major distraction. Covid has been losing steam … many if not most people are over it or have come to terms with it and are ready to “move on.” Governments are starting to relax sanctions and the CDC and WHO have quietly begun to backtrack on the official narrative based on all the supposed “science,” all but acknowledging that their policies were never about science but only the control and manipulation of mankind.
It was a social experiment and we were treated like lab rats. Rounded up. Isolated. Put in a maze and forced to take their drugs. But we aren’t rats. We are mankind and image bearers of God. And the world is beginning to wake up to the truth of who we are and what has been happening, and why we can never let it happen again.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict buys the globalists a little more time to see how to proceed and pivot off Covid and spin the momentum in another direction. Surely the Great Reset remains in full view and the technocratic billionaires will use every resource necessary to carry out their power grab of the globe. Mystery Babylon in the making.
But until we see what direction the world turns next, I do have a few considerable thoughts about the Russia-Ukrainian conflict from a prophetic point of view. Anytime Russia flexes its muscles, the prophecy world erupts in a frenzied chatter about the end of the age and World War III and Ezekiel 38-39 — the battle of Gog of Magog.
But is that how we should view end-times events in general and more specifically this Russian invasion?
I am not discounting the obvious potential for this conflict to trigger a chain of events that could descend into a legitimate nuclear threat. But from my view, Russia and Ukraine are not a sign of the end. My prophetic perspective, although unconventional, is nonetheless Biblical and I stand on God’s word, not the popular prophecy pundits or the preferred paradigm of the day. Here are two thoughts to consider.
Jesus Himself goes out of His way to tell us that wars and reports of wars are not signs of the end — but only preliminary signs and the beginning of sorrows. [see Matthew 24:4-8 above]
Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39, which describe the war of Gog of Magog, has absolutely, positively nothing to do with the land, people, or king of Russia.
RUMORS of WARS and LABOR PAINS
When we view the end of this age and great tribulation through the metaphorical lenses of pregnancy, we get a better understanding of Jesus’ teaching. Just like it is inevitable for an expecting mother to face her time of “sorrow,” it is inevitable for the creation itself to enter into its own definite time of trouble. At first, the labor pains are typically mild and infrequent. There could be some false labor with what is known as Braxton Hicks contractions. But when real labor hits, there is no turning back. The intensity and frequency of the pain is felt with every passing breath.
The final hour of agony arrives, and the delivery is difficult. But in the end a child has been born and everyone is filled with joy. All the sorrow has been turned to joy. So it will be at the return of the Son of God.
Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Jesus reminds us that when we see wars and hear rumors and reports of war, these are only the beginning of the labor pains — NOT the END. In other words, it will get a lot worse before it ever gets better, so don’t be unnecessarily alarmed but rather be kingdom minded, as we strive to be gospel witnesses to all nations — such as Russia and Ukraine!
And while we should expect to hear of wars and famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places all over the world, let us remember that these are only the beginning of birth pains. Jesus said the end is not yet. More definite signs, supernatural disclosures, and catastrophic events will culminate before the climax of redemptive history when Yeshua returns to wage war against the house of the wicked. All of creation will collectively be groaning in agony and the whole earth utterly shaken from its place when the Son finally arrives. And then our sorrows will be turned into great joy! For the Son has come to save His people and reconcile everything in heaven and on earth.
For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
GOG is NOT the KING of RUSSIA
The word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him 3and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
There is a saying in theological circles. In the essentials — we have unity. In the non-essentials — we have diversity. In all things — we have charity.
The prophetic interpretation of Ezekiel 38 & 39 may not qualify as an essential doctrine, but it is profitable and practical for every believer, especially for those living in the last days.
I wouldn’t necessarily assume that an obscure prophecy in the book of Ezekiel is being exegeted in any modern church context, much less the mainstream evangelical church. I’ve never heard a pastor teach from … much less teach through the book of Ezekiel.
Yet a peculiar portion of Ezekiel’s prophecy has received an unusual amount of attention over the past 50 years or so, especially in dispensational circles. In Ezekiel 38 and 39, we discover important details about a significant war in Israel in the last days. There is one antagonist in particular who comes into full view — a character named Gog of the land of Magog.
Without going into all the details, somewhere along the way Gog became identified as the Prince of Rosh [see Ezekiel 38:2 American Standard Version] — which then somehow evolved into the President of modern-day Russia — which now is being interpreted as Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine. To hear the prophecy gurus tell it, this war is the beginning of the Gog of Magog war. Ezekiel’s prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. It is interesting that this popular view of prophecy was never suggested until western dispensationalists began propagating it during the tensions of America’s cold war with Russia.

I strongly encourage you to read them for a deeper discovery of Ezekiel’s prophecy.
The bottom line is this. There is no Prince of Rosh. Rosh doesn’t exist. And it certainly is not modern-day Russia. Every single respectable translation of the Hebrew text — with exception to the American Standard — appropriately translates the Hebrew word rosh — רֹאשׁ — as head or chief.
This word rosh is used nearly 600 times and never once does the meaning of the word deviate from “head” or “chief” or “top” in the Biblical text. Why would Ezekiel only use the word rosh in this one random instance as a proper name of a place that never existed to begin with? Obviously he wouldn’t, which is why every single translation of Ezekiel 38 & 39 correctly renders Gog as the “chief prince” — not the Prince of Russia!
We have come from one bad translation, through a cold war with Russia, to a theological echo chamber that has a large portion of the evangelical community convinced that Ezekiel 38 & 39 is a Russian-led invasion of Israel, when it is anything but.
Ezekiel’s prophecy is about the very end of the age, the invasion of Israel by the Antichrist, the return of Jesus and the battle of Armageddon.

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.
[2 Thessalonians 2:3-4]
The theological thread of the Serpent and his seed runs through the pages of Scripture from beginning to end. This rival dichotomy remains in view from the day the LORD declared war on the Dragon in the garden and cast him out of God’s holy mountain [see Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14] until the day the Son of Man will come once again to crush Satan and remove his own son from Mt. Zion — Jerusalem — the City of the Great King.
In my previous posts in this series — see Post here and also here — I delved into the rebellion of the watchers [aka sons of heaven] and their unsanctioned procreation of hybrid offspring, who became the mighty kings of the antediluvian age.
I established how this particular faction of 200 watchers — according to 1 Enoch — descended upon Mt. Hermon in the days of Jared to take human wives and attempt to rule the earth by proxy through their giant offspring.
The rebel sons of God were shown no mercy by the LORD of hosts and were cast into prison — held in chains in the darkest depths of the abyss until the great day of God’s judgment. Enoch provides the insights, context, and theological backdrop to the severity of God’s unique punishment of the watchers — making examples of the fallen sons of God who once were royal members of the heavenly household. These “angels” who sinned in the days of Noah were cast into the pit [Tartarus] for their transgression.
And while it is written that the devil and his angels ultimately will share the same fate as the rebel watchers at the end of this age, it is equally apparent that the devil and his faction of angelic princes have not yet been bound in the least but obviously are still operating in both heavenly places and behind the evil empires of the earth.
Since Satan and other fallen angelic princes were not bound with the watchers before the flood, it stands to reason that the Serpent did not commit the same forbidden act of taking human wives and procreating offspring with them. In other words, Satan did not participate in the watchers unsanctioned rebellion.
At least … not yet.
Move — Counter Move
Satan is shrewd in this cosmic game of thrones and realized that his only chance to avoid his own judgment was to eliminate the seed of the woman before the Messiah was ever born, which is precisely what the watchers almost did in the days of Noah.
It is also just as likely that the Serpent initially planted the seeds of this rebellion in the minds of the watchers and persuaded them to abandon their proper domain and openly defy the universal laws governing God’s creative order. It’s not like the rebellion of the watchers wouldn’t be to his advantage — it certainly was — but at the same time the devil was able to avoid personal implication or guilt by association — buying himself valuable time to work out his own agenda.
Satan has opted to play the long game and take every conceivable path to position himself with an opportunity to devour the seed of the woman [Revelation 12:1-6]. After generations of making war with the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Judah and David, Satan was waiting on the day Messiah was born to a virgin daughter of Eve. He was working through Herod to murder all the young boys in Bethlehem. He was tempting Yeshua in the wilderness to abandon His ordained mission. He was leading the chief priests of Israel and the Sanhedrin in the conspiracy to commit murder.
And eventually Satan took matters into his own hands by entering Judas himself — the son of perdition — to finish the inside job and ensure that the the Son of God was nailed to the cross. And yet only if Satan and the rulers of this age had known what they were doing, they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory! For in conspiring to kill God’s Beloved Son they literally were fulfilling God’s redemptive plan and sealing their own fates before the courts of heaven.
Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9But, as it is written,“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”
[1 Corinthians 2:6-9]
But it already was too late, before the sun could rise on the first day of the week, the Son of God would be resurrected in power on the third day — immortal, invincible — overcoming the powers of darkness, conquering death and the grave, destroying the works of the devil, and delivering a crushing blow to the Dragon.
The Coming Hybrid Son of Satan
Once Satan saw that He could not kill the Son of God, he has been on a relentless war path, leaving a destructive trail of blood and tears in his wake, while at the same time whispering his lies into the ears of mankind and dragging as many down to hell with him as he possibly can.
The Dragon knows — better than anyone — that his appointed time is coming and that his time is short, and his skull will be crushed by the Son of God at His Second Coming.
The coming great tribulation at the end of this age will be the point in the coming future when Satan will no longer be able to prolong the inevitability of Christ’s return and his subsequent judgment, and he will act on every machination of his demented mind — holding nothing back and eventually launching an all out assault against the LORD and His Anointed.
With nothing to lose, Satan will combine every conceivable power at his disposal to resist the certain return of King Jesus from heaven to reclaim Planet Earth, much like the watchers attempted to do before the flood.
The Dragon and his alliance of 10 rebel princes will once again descend to the earth in godlike fashion offering irresistible knowledge to mankind, and having produced and prepared their own offspring as 10 hybrid kings to govern their end-times empire, the entire world will be enamored with the Beast and will worship the Dragon and deny the God of heaven.
Satan, being supreme in wisdom and more powerful than all the other evil princes will install his own human/hybrid son on the throne to rule them all — giving all power and all authority to this man of sin. The 10 rebel princes in league with the Dragon eventually will transfer all their authority to the Dragon and his seed [see Revelation 17:12-14].
The antichrist will come as the counterfeit savior of mankind in supernatural fashion — fully demonstrating himself to be “god” with many intoxicating signs and wonders. The son of Satan will convince millions to take his own genetic signature and receive his mark, which permanently perverts the genetic integrity of the human race and seals the souls of the ungodly to suffer the same condemnation in hell as the devil and his angels.
Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’
Satan and his hybrid son will again seek to either transform humanity into their own perverse image or eliminate humanity altogether. Either way, Satan will be on a kamikaze mission to face Jesus in an all out war of cosmic proportions, doing as much damage as possible to the very end. Yeshua reminds us that if those days were not cut short, no human being would survive, and yet for the sake of the elect, Christ will come in flaming fire to wage war on the son of Satan and his armies and will once and for all decimate his evil empire on that great Day of vengeance.
Bound for Tartarus
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. 2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
Before it is all said and done, Satan will have committed the same grievous abomination of the watchers by leaving his proper domain, inducing lawlessness in the earth, illicitly procreating his own hybrid son, all the while blaspheming the God of heaven to His face. Satan will take as similar path as the watchers and will suffer a similar fate.
And just as we would expect, what is the Dragon’s punishment? He and his co-conspirators will be bound in chains of gloomy darkness in the depths of the same bottomless pit for 1,000 years. The devil and his angels will be bound with the watchers for the final day of judgment when they all will be cast into the lake of fire burning forever.
The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered; for the LORD has spoken this word.The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and withers; the highest people of the earth languish. 5The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant. 6Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left.
On that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth.22They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.23Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and his glory will be before his elders.
For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.
[2 Peter 3:5-6]
The naturalist envisions modern man atop the evolutionary family tree — a more advanced version of his ancient ancestors. We have crossed technological thresholds beyond the limits of our primitive past and the intellectual inferiority of our forefathers; therefore, man must be at the apex of his existence.
The naturalist arrogantly assumes that the marvelous technological achievements of our age have never been matched or reproduced in the vastness of our past. This willful blindness precludes an alternative view of history and ignorantly narrows science and life itself into a purely materialistic framework.
The Biblical witness of the great global flood not only answers the questions about the natural condition of our planet, but also it further unlocks the deeper mysteries of universe — such as the nature of God, the human soul, and the spiritual realm filled with an innumerable host of heavenly beings — both good and evil — who war behind a veil that we cannot yet perceive.
Which is why faith is being certain of what you cannot see. Even though we naturally do not see this parallel world peering from behind the glass darkly, the Bible provides a glimpse behind the veil where we can “see” the other side through faith in God’s word. Not everything can be explained by the laws of nature. There is a supernatural realm beyond the limits of our world. Once you acknowledge the reality of the supernatural and the spiritual nature of man, you render the Darwinian paradigm dead and left to rot in its evolutionary grave.
No one will argue that we have taken a quantum leap in technological discoveries in the past 100 years and can only begin to imagine what we will see in the next 20, especially with the convergence of genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, space travel, and quantum mechanics [see GRIN technology]. But what if our modern technological revolution is only a rediscovery of ancient technology that once was well known and universally practiced in the deep past by an ancient race of superior humans?
What if we are not evolving after all, but rather devolving under the relentless decay of cosmic, nuclear, and biological entropy [see Romans 8:18-25]? What if thousands of years of genetic degeneration has reproduced only faint copies of Adam — weakened reproductions of a once superior race of humanity?
Only the Biblical worldview holds the key to unlocking the truth about the advanced civilizations that existed in the antediluvian age. The Bible reveals the true history of humanity from first-hand, eye-witness testimony.
Man’s story begins with God’s perfect creation in Adam — the son of God — the first man. Adam was in every respect an enhanced, exalted being — fashioned from the earth with God’s hand — bearing the collective beauty of God’s image — illuminated with God’s light — animated with God’s Spirit. Our first fathers would have been remarkable men, capable of incomprehensible achievements. Even after the fall, Adam and his progeny were far superior in every capacity than modern man, as we are only beginning to recover remnants of that superior knowledge and technology yet hidden for ages.
The Potency of the Pre-Flood Earth
Imagine never aging with almost perfect health and limitless brain capacity. Imagine a universal language coupled with unlimited resources and exponential efficiency. Imagine having first-hand knowledge of ancient secrets about advanced arts derived from divine origins. Imagine an age when man truly was at the apex of his existence.
Such was the antediluvian age.
From the very beginning the earth was rich, the food was plentiful, the environment was optimal, pollutants were negligible, and genetic integrity was still viable. Even with the curse of sin in effect, it was not uncommon for men to live 700 years. Knowledge abounded. The antediluvian world was an age of ancient wonders, filled with the legendary lore of godlike heroes, ruling vast advanced civilizations, and wielding technology far superior to our own.
Ancient history, both pagan and Biblical, describe an age when the gods walked among men and their godlike sons ruled the earth. Man traveled extensively and traded prolifically through a global network before the flood — navigating the skies, land and sea, sharing and innovating technology, calculating astronomical pattens with mathematical precision, building great empires, erecting temples, and multiplying upon the face of the earth. Global populations of the antediluvian age could easily have been in the billions.
We can learn a great deal from the Hebrew account of ancient history and also from modern archeological discoveries that ultimately reveal remnants of the world that perished in the flood of Noah.
We know the descendants of Cain were building cities right from the start — showing all the hallmark signs of human ingenuity and creativity [Genesis 4:17]. The Bible depicts ancient men as the originators of art, culture, music, religious worship, law, agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, government, engineering, science, weaponry and the like. These are classic characteristics of an advanced civilization right from the beginning.
Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch … His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play stringed instruments and pipes. 22Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools and instructed in the work of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.
[Genesis 4:17, 21-22]
The testimony of Enoch sheds further insight into the origin of man’s ancient acquisition of the advance arts of the watchers.
And Azazel taught men to make swords, and daggers, and shields, and breastplates. And he showed them the things after these, and the art of making them; bracelets, and ornaments, and the art of making up the eyes, and of beautifying the eyelids, and the most precious stones, and all kinds of coloured dyes. And the world was changed. 8.2 And there was great impiety, and much fornication, and they went astray, and all their ways became corrupt. 8.3 Amezarak taught all those who cast spells and cut roots, Armaros the release of spells, and Baraqiel astrologers, and Kokabiel portents, and Tamiel taught astrology, and Asradel taught the path of the Moon. 8.4 And at the destruction of men they cried out; and their voices reached Heaven.
See then what Azazel has done; how he has taught all iniquity on the earth and revealed the eternal secrets that are made in Heaven. 9.7 And Semyaza has made known spells, he to whom you gave authority to rule over those who are with him. 9.8 And they went into the daughters of men together, lay with those women, became unclean, and revealed to them these sins. 9.9 And the women bore giants, and thereby the whole Earth has been filled with blood and iniquity.

If such an advanced civilization truly did exist before the great flood, however, how can we expect to find any physical remains of this ancient world? Would we not expect that old world to have been utterly ruined in the deluge and swallowed up by the great deep and buried in the heart of the earth?
And yet what we discover is that ancient ruins did survive the flood and stand to this day as a testimony to that great deluge and the highly advanced civilizations that preceded it.
Once again, the scientific evidence confirms the Biblical narrative. As we will see, the earth has left behind some impressive ruins that can only be attributed to ancient beings of superior knowledge, size, and strength and capability.
Evidence all over the World
The earth literally is scattered with massive megalithic structures of classic cyclopean architecture, demonstrating masonry skill and applying advanced math in ways unchallenged by modernity. Our predecessors of the ancient past possessed the technology to quarry stones weighing hundreds of tons (sometimes over 1,000 tons), transport them over miles of rugged terrain and up mountains, mold and manipulate them to precision, cut through the hardest stone to perfection, and then lift them before fitting them together so tightly that no mortar was necessary.
The following are only a sampling of the ubiquitous presence of superior architecture left behind from the ancient past.
Virtually every advanced ancient civilization possessed considerable knowledge of the astronomical alignments and meticulous mechanics of the sun, moon, stars, and their constellations — typically building their temples and cities in perfect alignment and synchronicity with the equinoxes and solstices. The zodiac [or in Hebrew the Mazzaroth] can be traced back to one common point of origin before the flood [see Genesis 1:14], which means that the ancients were pioneers of the cosmic laws of physics and possessed the advanced mathematical knowledge to trace and predict with accuracy the natural courses of the heavenly bodies.
Having grown dependent on the power of computers, we fail to appreciate the level of knowledge attained and preserved by the ancients.
The modern explosion of technology is without a doubt one of the most obvious signs that we are living in the last generation and should be preparing for another satanic insurgency of angelic rebels to descend on the earth and lead the whole world into destruction — ultimately ending in another Great War and global cataclysm. Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be before the coming of the Son of Man.
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.
What does genetic engineering, cloning, designer babies, and mRNA technology have to do with the days of Noah?
Much more than you can possibly imagine.
When geneticists first began to map the human genome in the early 1990s through the Human Genome Project, scientists were able for the first time “to read nature’s complete genetic blueprint for building a human being.” Initial sequencing of the human genome was accomplished in 2003 but was not considered complete until May of last year (2021).
This unprecedented discovery has opened the Pandora’s box of genetic applications that were considered science fiction merely 20 years ago. Now that geneticists have identified specific genes and the digital code that distinctly programs each one in function, the field of genetics has exploded past information theory and accelerated into clinical fields of gene therapy, engineering, and alteration.
The result has been astonishing if not terrifying altogether.
Perhaps the most revolutionary technology to date, however, is the advent of CRISPR Cas9, which has effectively changed the future of genetics. CRISPR stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats and is basically a cut and paste gene-editing technology that allows scientists to alter and upgrade defective genes within human DNA and recode it with new information for correction.
CRISPR is efficient both in cost and application, which makes the technology most appealing to the pioneers of genetics, yet for those seeking to manipulate DNA beyond the present boundaries of human existence, CRISPR is the potential pathway to transhumanism — or the belief that biotechnology can recreate mankind into a new species altogether. Although such radical technologies initially are always justified under the guise of medical breakthrough to better humanity, the ethical implications literally are blurring the lines of what it means to be human as created in the image of God.
NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
So back to my original question? What does this revolutionary technology have to do with Noah’s day?
First, Genesis 6 provides the initial framework for the original genetic corruption of God’s creation, which in turn led to the global destruction of all life — save Noah — by way of the flood. The Bible introduces us to the great supernatural rebellion in Genesis 6, which led to the forbidden transgression of God’s law and perversion of the created order itself.
The “sons of God” in Genesis 6 are the same “angels that sinned,” according to 2 Peter 2:4-5 and Jude 1:6-7, namely by leaving their proper domain in the heavenly realm and crossing over into the physical world to commit profane acts of sexual immorality that resulted in the creation of a hybrid race of giants called the Nephilim.
So gross and pervasive was this corruption of the human race in Noah’s day that God determined to destroy all genetically compromised life on earth and preserve the only human family left that had not yet been genetically tainted. It is against the backdrop of this genetic corruption that we fully understand how God saved the human race through Noah, who was “perfect and blameless in his generations” [Genesis 6:9].
The Hebrew word “blameless” in Genesis 6:9 is tamim: תָּמִים — which means to be physically pure without defect or blemish. It is the same word used of the passover lamb in the Torah, which had to pure and spotless physically — without flaw or defect.
Aside from Noah’s righteousness and spiritual integrity, he and his family by all accounts were the last true genetically intact humans on the planet, still bearing the image of God. As we see, it was not only humanity that had been corrupted prior to the flood, but also all plant and animal life seems to have been compromised, as the LORD preserved two of every “kind” of animal on the ark to ensure that the animal kingdom was not lost to genetically altered chimeras and hybrid monstrosities that did not reflect God’s original creation.
Strangely enough, the ancient mythical stories of centaurs, manticores, and griffins are more likely fact than fiction, and with the advancements in genetic engineering taking place today, we now have the potential for the same type of corruption that threatened the existence of mankind in Noah’s day.
When Jesus warned us that the last days leading to His coming judgment would be as it was in the days of Noah, He was giving us prophetic insight into a day and age when the spiritual forces of darkness would once again attempt to corrupt God’s image and pervert God’s creation by means of genetic manipulation.
We are living in that day, and like Noah … we have the responsibility to call the world to repentance before it is too late.
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
I can only name a few things in life that are worth dying for.
Protecting my loved ones, family and friends.
Defending the most vulnerable and innocent.
Bearing witness for my Lord Jesus Christ, who willingly died for me!
And finally, preserving my God-given freedom.
Freedom is our innate gift from Almighty God and essential for life itself. For a life that is not free is not life at all. Without freedom, I am unable to protect the ones I love, defend the weak, or speak the truth of the gospel. Without freedom, I all but cease to be human — becoming a beast of burden under the heavy yoke of slavery.
Anyone who has an appreciation for the freedom that has been bestowed upon this land can plainly see that a monumental shift is taking place in our nation. The steady and systematic grab for power has slowly eaten away at our individual freedoms, as we have traded our civil liberties for comfort, convenience, safety and security. How quickly we have been willing to give up the invaluable treasure of freedom to gain fleeting pleasures.
In one sense, the deterioration of the United States of America should not be a surprise. All great empires are born out of great sacrifice and courage, which then leads to an era of great prosperity and wealth. But inevitably, prosperity grows into entitlement and entitlement into complacency and complacency into apathy. Eventually, it is the apathy that allows power-hungry men to step in and assume control over the masses, enslaving them in the chains of their own indifference.
Before you know it, a once free nation has become a slave state. A once strong nation has become weak and vulnerable. Inevitably, all great nations rise and fall by following such a path, and America is not different.
Consider how much has changed in America in just the past 20 years.
After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the government convinced us that it was necessary to spy on its own people for counter-terrorism purposes. Ironically, this new “Patriot Act,” has been used for gross government overreach, surveillance, and invasion of privacy. Politicians will never waste a crisis, and 9/11 was the perfect scenario to justify taking away our freedom for the “greater good.”
Fast forward to the present Covid-19 crisis. Once again, the powers that be have taken full advantage of a fearful and confused population with massive power grabs and gross disregard for civil liberties.
We have seen unconstitutional executive orders shut down the economy and destroy small business.
We have seen health departments and federal health agencies become acting dictators, legislating from their self-appointed place of authority.
We have seen school boards and teacher’s unions deny children basic education and much needed social interaction.
We have seen both private companies and government agencies mandate experimental vaccinations upon their employees.
We have seen private businesses and entire cities impose vaccination passports likened to Nazi Germany and communist Russia, who were masters at creating sub-classes of citizens to maintain control over the “non-compliant.”
We have seen hospitals deny patients their basic human right of having family advocates by their side in their most difficult time of need.
And to top it all off, we have seen the most aggressive, systematic shut down of free speech in history, as Big Tech companies have appointed themselves as the arbiters of truth by censoring anything and everything they deem to be “false” or “misleading.” Only the information that fits the accepted social narrative is allowed. Just ask the citizens of China and North Korea how that has worked out for them.
Only God knows what freedoms they will come for next. Man’s lust for power knows no end. They are not going to stop unless we make them. It’s time we remind these self-serving bureaucrats that they serve us. Not the other way around! Somewhere along the way they have forgotten that because we have let them get away with it for so long. The government does not give us our rights. God does!
Having said all of this, I only have one question.
Where do we go from here?
Either the American people will wake up and stand up and speak out and fight for their constitutional and God-given freedoms, or soon America will no longer be free. That is an America not worth living in, not for me or my children.
As Thomas Paine said, “I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace.”
But like the generation of patriots that first stared in the face of tyranny and stood firm for this freedom, it will take tremendous faith and courage and sacrifice for our generation to reclaim what is rightfully ours. It will not be easy. It will not be comfortable. It may cost us more than we can imagine.
But in the end, it is worth it. Freedom is always worth fighting for! Whether that fight is at the voting polls, in the marketplace of ideas, or God forbid on the battlefield, it is fight that must be fought.
I will leave you with some famous words of a courageous patriot, Patrick Henry, who understood how essential freedom was to his generation. I pray that our generation will have the same courage to preserve our God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave … Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
For nearly 1,900 years, the land of Israel was a desolate place, devoid of life and cursed to the core. Roman legions laid siege to Jerusalem and burned down the Temple in A.D. 70, and then almost 70 years later (135 A.D.) the entire city of Jerusalem was plowed over and salted by the Romans following the disastrous revolt of the false messiah Simon bar Kochba.
Like the prophets before Him, Jesus Himself prophesied concerning the destruction of Jerusalem. The Babylonians were the first to lay siege to Jerusalem and exile the Jews in 586 B.C., and Jesus warned the leaders of Israel that a similar judgment would come upon them as well for rejecting Him at the time of His visitation.
And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.“
After Jesus was rejected by men and cut off for the sins of the world (Daniel 9:26), His prophecy came true and both Jerusalem and the land of Israel was left desolate for nearly 1,900 years.
In 1867, famous author Mark Twain took a private tour of the holy land and was astonished by its condition. Consider how Twain described the sheer desolation of the entire land of Israel at that time.
A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds… a silent mournful expanse…. a desolation…. we never saw a human being on the whole route…. hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.

However, when one visits Israel today, it is a rich and fertile land, inhabited by nearly 10 million citizens and teeming with life.
Something obviously happened between Mark Twain’s notorious visit and what we see in the modern state of Israel today?
Jesus told us about that too, and it has everything to do with God’s prophetic clock and the lesson of the fig tree.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
As the ministry of Jesus was coming to a close and His appointment with the cross was drawing near, our Lord used a powerful object lesson from nature to teach us about God’s prophetic clock concerning the nation of Israel.
As Jesus and His disciples were making their way to Jerusalem just prior to Passover, they came upon a fig tree, and Jesus took advantage of this opportunity to teach His disciples about the judgment of Israel and ultimately about the rebirth of the nation in connection to His return.
The fig tree was used in the Hebrew Scriptures as an illustration of God’s favor and blessing over Israel. In Solomon’s day when the Kingdom of Israel was at the zenith of peace, the fig tree was a symbol of prosperity (1 Kings 4:25). The prophet Hosea likewise associated the fig tree with Israel’s birth as a nation coming out of Egypt.
Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame, and became detestable like the thing they loved.
When Jesus came upon this fig tree outside of Jerusalem, He found it to be fruitless and pronounced a curse on the tree. The tree leaves immediately withered, eventually down to the very roots (see Mark 11:20). The object lesson, of course, was that the national leadership of Israel — represented by the fig tree — was faithless and therefore fruitless at the time that their Messiah had arrived. Because of their unbelief and subsequent rejection of Jesus as Messiah, God brought a curse on the nation and the land of Israel. The fig tree served as a symbol of God’s judgment.
In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry. 19And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.
Jesus wept over Jerusalem one last time and made a sobering promise to the people of Israel. They would not see His face again until they experienced a national repentance and recognized their grievous sin of rejecting God’s one and only Son.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! 38See, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Once again, this curse became a reality after the Roman legions left Jerusalem desolate and scattered the Jews to the four winds of the earth. Just as the fig tree withered and died, the land of Israel was left desolate for generations. By all accounts, Israel was never to be a nation again and the Jews would never again return to the land.
Yet God never breaks a promise.
Summer is Near
Immediately after weeping over Jerusalem, Jesus began to teach His disciples about the signs of the end of the age and of His 2nd coming. Tucked right in the middle of His famous teaching on the Mount of Olives, Jesus used the fig tree once again as an illustration for the future rebirth of Israel. Calling attention to the same fig tree He just finished cursing, Jesus made a profound promise.
He prophesied that the same fig tree that had withered and died will one day come back to life and produce fruit again. The illustration could not be more clear. Although Israel would be desolate and fruitless for a season, God had not fully rejected His people. The fig tree — Israel — would come to life in the future. Furthermore, Jesus connected this amazing rebirth of Israel with the unique generation that would live to see His return.

As God would have it — in the wake of arguably the worst time of suffering the Jewish people have ever experienced (the Holocaust) — the nation of Israel was reborn against all odds. In May of 1948, the United Nations narrowly passed a resolution to officially recognize Israel as a sovereign nation again. The Jews were able to return to their homeland for the first time in over 18 centuries, and the fig tree began to put forth leaves of life.
After defending their land from at least three hostile enemy invasions (1948, 1967, 1973), Israel stands today as a living testimony of God’s faithfulness and as an undeniable witness to the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. The rebirth of the state of Israel remains as one of the most unexpected prophetic fulfillments in human history.
A Return in Unbelief
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
Countless Biblical prophesies describe the Day when Messiah will return to gather all His people — Jew and Gentile — and restore the fortunes of Israel and establish the Kingdom of Israel on the earth (Isaiah 11, Jeremiah 30-33, Zephaniah 2, Ezekiel 39). This final gathering is connected to the deliverance on the Day of the LORD when Messiah comes to crush the antichrist and his armies.
Other passages clearly speak of a national turning of Israel and the Jewish people in faith after enduring the horrors of the coming great tribulation. Out of the fires of affliction Israel will cry out in faith to Jesus and finally acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior and a remnant will be saved (Joel 2:30-32, Hosea 5:15-6:3, Zechariah 12:10-12).
The lesson of the fig tree, however, is not describing this final gathering and restoration of Israel at the end of the age, but rather it is a prophesy about the nation of Israel being gathered back to the land primarily in unbelief. The overwhelming majority of Jewish people today are either secular — holding no “religious” beliefs — or orthodox, yet only a remnant of Jewish people embrace Jesus as Messiah today. Most still are in a hardened state of unbelief toward Jesus as Lord.
The fig tree prophecy, however, was essential because without the Jews first returning to the land and Israel becoming a nation again, God’s prophetic word could not be fulfilled. Let me explain.
Passages like Ezekiel 38-39, Zechariah 12-14, Luke 21, Matthew 24 and Revelation 16-19 depict the final battle for Jerusalem and the coming of Messiah to crush the Beast and his armies that have invaded Israel and laid siege to Jerusalem. Up until 1948, there was no state of Israel and Jerusalem certainly was nothing to fight about, yet once Israel returned to the land and reclaimed Jerusalem in 1967, everything changed!
For the first time since A.D. 70 these prophecies now have the potential for being fulfilled because Israel is a primary player on the world stage and the center of controversy for the entire world. Jesus was trying to tell us that when Israel was back in the land — the fig tree was just beginning to bud — and the generation that sees Israel in the land again can expect His return to be very near — even at the very gates!
If we are interpreting the words of Jesus correctly, He says that the generation to see all these things take place — including the rebirth of Israel in 1948 — will not pass away until all is fulfilled and He returns in power and great glory to take vengeance on the wicked and redeem His people, reclaiming His rightful place once and for all!
Many have attempted to determine what is meant by a “generation,” claiming it could 100 years or even 70 years, but one thing is certain. The coming of Jesus is near. Even so Lord Jesus, come!
Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and He will reign wisely as King and will administer justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is His name by which He will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
