In the Beginning … Session 23 — The Tower of Babel

So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.

[Genesis 11:8-9]

Babel — The gate of the gods.

What was the Tower of Babel? Why did Nimrod build it?

Was it an ancient skyscraper?

Was it a rocket launcher?

Or perhaps we have looked at the tower of Babel all wrong.

It is more likely that the tower of Babel was an ancient ziggurat and pagan temple complex that was specifically designed to open a portal to the other side. Babel was a gateway for the gods, summoning the dark powers of heaven and opening a dimensional door into the spirit realm.

When we consider what the modern-day mediums are doing with the likes of the massive hadron collider at CERN, it is apparent that one of their goals is to once again open a door to the other side and summoning powers to come upon the earth.

The Feast of Tabernacles — The Dwelling Place of God is with Man

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

[Revelation 21:3-4]

This week God’s people all over the world have been celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles — or Sukkot.

This amazing divine appointment shows us so much about God’s desire to dwell with His people.

Tabernacles reveals to us significant patterns of the past, reminds us of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, and points us to the prophetic promises of the coming Kingdom of God.

The Feast of Tabernacles Future Fulfillment

The Day of Atonement — The Day of Final Judgment

When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’

[Matthew 25:31-34]

At sundown on Tuesday October 4 through sundown October 5, God’s people all over the world will be observing the Day of Atonement — the most holy of God’s divine appointments.

The Lord Jesus is our Great High Priest who was raised from the dead and entered the heavenly temple to offer His own blood once and for all, partially fulfilling the Day of Atonement.

However, Jesus will finally fulfill this divine appointment when He returns as King of heaven and Judge of all the earth.

Even today, we as God’s people have a unique opportunity once a year to deny ourselves, examine our hearts, confess sin, and ask God for forgiveness and mercy, as we prepare to stand before the Judge of all the earth.

The Feast of Trumpets and The Return of the King

And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other … But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

[The Lord Jesus — Matthew 24:31, 36]

We are fast approaching the fall Feasts of the LORD and the high holy days, beginning with the Feast of Trumpets at sundown on September 25.

Just as the Lord Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts in astonishing detail during His first coming, I am convinced that Jesus also will fulfill the fall feasts at His second coming to the very day.

God’s covenant people were commanded to keep and celebrate these divine appointments each and every year as dress rehearsals in preparation for the prophetic fulfillments through Messiah. Furthermore, we get to continue to celebrate these amazing holy days in perpetuity as we gather together to worship King Jesus!

The Feast of Trumpets is unique in comparison to all the other appointed times because it is the only feast that does not have a predetermined date on the calendar. On the contrary, the Feast of Trumpets can only be announced upon the official sighting of the new moon in the evening sky, which designates the beginning of the seventh month. Because the observation of the new moon is required before Trumpets can begin, this appointed feast arrives “on a day and at an hour that no one knows.”

Does that sound familiar?

It should because those are the exact words that the Lord Jesus uses in His most popular teaching about His second coming.

Contrary to popular belief, when Jesus says that no one knows the day or the hour when He will return, He is not referring to some secret rapture event in which He could return at any moment to whisk away the church without a trace, leaving the rest of the world behind in bewilderment.

Many in the church have grossly misinterpreted this passage to say something that it does not, primarily because we have forgotten the Feasts of the LORD, and without a Biblical context, we cannot understand Jesus’ teaching.

Jesus was making a direct reference to the Feast of Trumpets in the Olivet Discourse, as the day and an hour that no one knows. Jesus tells His disciples to know the signs and the general season of His second coming, so that we should be aware when His return is very near — even at the door!

Jesus knew better than anyone that as the beginning of the seventh month drew near, there would be at least a two-day window of waiting and watching before the new moon would appear. So in regard to the Feast of Trumpets only, Jesus is saying that we may not know which day or the precise hour of His return, but on the other hand He commands us to know when His coming is near.

And by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

Convergence Series — Part 3 — Genetics and the Mark of the Beast

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

[1 John 3:8-9]

Part 3 of our Convergence Series addresses the integration of genetic engineering, modification and alteration in Satan’s evil scheme to seduce the entire world to take his genetic signature (or name) and the number of his name (digital code) — the unique genetic markers of the Beast.

But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

[Genesis 3:4-5]

There is a multifaceted convergence taking place in our day that is being fueled by trans-humanistic aspirations, especially the desire to transition humanity into a new age of post-human existence.

For the first time in modern history, the technology is available and the spirit of the age is ripe for the initiation of this ancient alternative path to immortality. The convergence is transpiring right before our eyes.

From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

[Matthew 24:32-34]

Our generation is beginning to see an emergence of events on the prophetic timeline that are accelerating at an exponential rate into one climatic convergence at the end of this age.

I am speaking — of course — about the coming great tribulation and the subsequent return of the Lord Jesus to reclaim His throne and regenerate all of creation.

I have recently launched a new YouTube platform — Regeneration Radio — where I will explore the current events and signs of the end-times in connection to the gosepl of Jesus and the testimony of the Biblical prophets.

For my first session in the Convergence Series, I make the case for the rebirth of the nation-state of Israel as one of the most significant prophetic signs of our generation.

Could we be living in the last generation before the coming of the Lord Jesus?

And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

[Matthew 24:4-8]

The escalating war between Russia and Ukraine is all the buzz now — dominating the official media narrative. Funny how we suddenly forgot about Covid — just like that — it’s over in case anyone was asking.

Never mind the past two years of Covid insanity, tyrannical lock downs, economic hemorrhaging, absurd mask mandates, media manipulation and lies, big tech control and censorship, asinine vaccine mandates, gross violations of constitutional and human rights … oh and millions of lives ruined as collateral damage for the “globalists” agenda.

For the perceptive eye, Russia and Ukraine — although significant in it’s own right — is a major distraction. Covid has been losing steam … many if not most people are over it or have come to terms with it and are ready to “move on.” Governments are starting to relax sanctions and the CDC and WHO have quietly begun to backtrack on the official narrative based on all the supposed “science,” all but acknowledging that their policies were never about science but only the control and manipulation of mankind.

It was a social experiment and we were treated like lab rats. Rounded up. Isolated. Put in a maze and forced to take their drugs. But we aren’t rats. We are mankind and image bearers of God. And the world is beginning to wake up to the truth of who we are and what has been happening, and why we can never let it happen again.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict buys the globalists a little more time to see how to proceed and pivot off Covid and spin the momentum in another direction. Surely the Great Reset remains in full view and the technocratic billionaires will use every resource necessary to carry out their power grab of the globe. Mystery Babylon in the making.

But until we see what direction the world turns next, I do have a few considerable thoughts about the Russia-Ukrainian conflict from a prophetic point of view. Anytime Russia flexes its muscles, the prophecy world erupts in a frenzied chatter about the end of the age and World War III and Ezekiel 38-39 — the battle of Gog of Magog.

But is that how we should view end-times events in general and more specifically this Russian invasion?

I am not discounting the obvious potential for this conflict to trigger a chain of events that could descend into a legitimate nuclear threat. But from my view, Russia and Ukraine are not a sign of the end. My prophetic perspective, although unconventional, is nonetheless Biblical and I stand on God’s word, not the popular prophecy pundits or the preferred paradigm of the day. Here are two thoughts to consider.

  1. Jesus Himself goes out of His way to tell us that wars and reports of wars are not signs of the end — but only preliminary signs and the beginning of sorrows. [see Matthew 24:4-8 above]
  2. Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39, which describe the war of Gog of Magog, has absolutely, positively nothing to do with the land, people, or king of Russia.

When we view the end of this age and great tribulation through the metaphorical lenses of pregnancy, we get a better understanding of Jesus’ teaching. Just like it is inevitable for an expecting mother to face her time of “sorrow,” it is inevitable for the creation itself to enter into its own definite time of trouble. At first, the labor pains are typically mild and infrequent. There could be some false labor with what is known as Braxton Hicks contractions. But when real labor hits, there is no turning back. The intensity and frequency of the pain is felt with every passing breath.

The final hour of agony arrives, and the delivery is difficult. But in the end a child has been born and everyone is filled with joy. All the sorrow has been turned to joy. So it will be at the return of the Son of God.

Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

[John 16:20-22]

Jesus reminds us that when we see wars and hear rumors and reports of war, these are only the beginning of the labor pains — NOT the END. In other words, it will get a lot worse before it ever gets better, so don’t be unnecessarily alarmed but rather be kingdom minded, as we strive to be gospel witnesses to all nations — such as Russia and Ukraine!

And while we should expect to hear of wars and famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places all over the world, let us remember that these are only the beginning of birth pains. Jesus said the end is not yet. More definite signs, supernatural disclosures, and catastrophic events will culminate before the climax of redemptive history when Yeshua returns to wage war against the house of the wicked. All of creation will collectively be groaning in agony and the whole earth utterly shaken from its place when the Son finally arrives. And then our sorrows will be turned into great joy! For the Son has come to save His people and reconcile everything in heaven and on earth.

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

[Romans 8:22-23]

The word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him 3and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

[Ezekiel 38:1-3]

There is a saying in theological circles. In the essentials — we have unity. In the non-essentials — we have diversity. In all things — we have charity.

The prophetic interpretation of Ezekiel 38 & 39 may not qualify as an essential doctrine, but it is profitable and practical for every believer, especially for those living in the last days.

I wouldn’t necessarily assume that an obscure prophecy in the book of Ezekiel is being exegeted in any modern church context, much less the mainstream evangelical church. I’ve never heard a pastor teach from … much less teach through the book of Ezekiel.

Yet a peculiar portion of Ezekiel’s prophecy has received an unusual amount of attention over the past 50 years or so, especially in dispensational circles. In Ezekiel 38 and 39, we discover important details about a significant war in Israel in the last days. There is one antagonist in particular who comes into full view — a character named Gog of the land of Magog.

Without going into all the details, somewhere along the way Gog became identified as the Prince of Rosh [see Ezekiel 38:2 American Standard Version] — which then somehow evolved into the President of modern-day Russia — which now is being interpreted as Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine. To hear the prophecy gurus tell it, this war is the beginning of the Gog of Magog war. Ezekiel’s prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. It is interesting that this popular view of prophecy was never suggested until western dispensationalists began propagating it during the tensions of America’s cold war with Russia.

Having written substantially on this topic in the past, I have provided my 4-part series on the Gog of Magog here.

Gog of Magog — Part 1

Gog of Magog — Part 2

Gog of Magog — Part 3

Gog of Magog — Conclusion

I strongly encourage you to read them for a deeper discovery of Ezekiel’s prophecy.

The bottom line is this. There is no Prince of Rosh. Rosh doesn’t exist. And it certainly is not modern-day Russia. Every single respectable translation of the Hebrew text — with exception to the American Standard — appropriately translates the Hebrew word rosh — רֹאשׁ — as head or chief.

This word rosh is used nearly 600 times and never once does the meaning of the word deviate from “head” or “chief” or “top” in the Biblical text. Why would Ezekiel only use the word rosh in this one random instance as a proper name of a place that never existed to begin with? Obviously he wouldn’t, which is why every single translation of Ezekiel 38 & 39 correctly renders Gog as the “chief prince” — not the Prince of Russia!

We have come from one bad translation, through a cold war with Russia, to a theological echo chamber that has a large portion of the evangelical community convinced that Ezekiel 38 & 39 is a Russian-led invasion of Israel, when it is anything but.

Ezekiel’s prophecy is about the very end of the age, the invasion of Israel by the Antichrist, the return of Jesus and the battle of Armageddon.

As in the Days of Noah — The Seed of the Serpent and the Hybrid Son of Satan

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.

[2 Thessalonians 2:3-4]

The theological thread of the Serpent and his seed runs through the pages of Scripture from beginning to end. This rival dichotomy remains in view from the day the LORD declared war on the Dragon in the garden and cast him out of God’s holy mountain [see Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14] until the day the Son of Man will come once again to crush Satan and remove his own son from Mt. Zion — Jerusalem — the City of the Great King.

In my previous posts in this series — see Post here and also here — I delved into the rebellion of the watchers [aka sons of heaven] and their unsanctioned procreation of hybrid offspring, who became the mighty kings of the antediluvian age.

I established how this particular faction of 200 watchers — according to 1 Enoch — descended upon Mt. Hermon in the days of Jared to take human wives and attempt to rule the earth by proxy through their giant offspring.

The rebel sons of God were shown no mercy by the LORD of hosts and were cast into prison — held in chains in the darkest depths of the abyss until the great day of God’s judgment. Enoch provides the insights, context, and theological backdrop to the severity of God’s unique punishment of the watchers — making examples of the fallen sons of God who once were royal members of the heavenly household. These “angels” who sinned in the days of Noah were cast into the pit [Tartarus] for their transgression.

And while it is written that the devil and his angels ultimately will share the same fate as the rebel watchers at the end of this age, it is equally apparent that the devil and his faction of angelic princes have not yet been bound in the least but obviously are still operating in both heavenly places and behind the evil empires of the earth.

Since Satan and other fallen angelic princes were not bound with the watchers before the flood, it stands to reason that the Serpent did not commit the same forbidden act of taking human wives and procreating offspring with them. In other words, Satan did not participate in the watchers unsanctioned rebellion.

At least … not yet.

Move — Counter Move

Satan is shrewd in this cosmic game of thrones and realized that his only chance to avoid his own judgment was to eliminate the seed of the woman before the Messiah was ever born, which is precisely what the watchers almost did in the days of Noah.

It is also just as likely that the Serpent initially planted the seeds of this rebellion in the minds of the watchers and persuaded them to abandon their proper domain and openly defy the universal laws governing God’s creative order. It’s not like the rebellion of the watchers wouldn’t be to his advantage — it certainly was — but at the same time the devil was able to avoid personal implication or guilt by association — buying himself valuable time to work out his own agenda.

Satan has opted to play the long game and take every conceivable path to position himself with an opportunity to devour the seed of the woman [Revelation 12:1-6]. After generations of making war with the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Judah and David, Satan was waiting on the day Messiah was born to a virgin daughter of Eve. He was working through Herod to murder all the young boys in Bethlehem. He was tempting Yeshua in the wilderness to abandon His ordained mission. He was leading the chief priests of Israel and the Sanhedrin in the conspiracy to commit murder.

And eventually Satan took matters into his own hands by entering Judas himself — the son of perdition — to finish the inside job and ensure that the the Son of God was nailed to the cross. And yet only if Satan and the rulers of this age had known what they were doing, they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory! For in conspiring to kill God’s Beloved Son they literally were fulfilling God’s redemptive plan and sealing their own fates before the courts of heaven.

Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away7But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory8None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory

9But, as it is written,“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him.”

[1 Corinthians 2:6-9]

But it already was too late, before the sun could rise on the first day of the week, the Son of God would be resurrected in power on the third day — immortal, invincible — overcoming the powers of darkness, conquering death and the grave, destroying the works of the devil, and delivering a crushing blow to the Dragon.

The Coming Hybrid Son of Satan

Once Satan saw that He could not kill the Son of God, he has been on a relentless war path, leaving a destructive trail of blood and tears in his wake, while at the same time whispering his lies into the ears of mankind and dragging as many down to hell with him as he possibly can.

The Dragon knows — better than anyone — that his appointed time is coming and that his time is short, and his skull will be crushed by the Son of God at His Second Coming.

The coming great tribulation at the end of this age will be the point in the coming future when Satan will no longer be able to prolong the inevitability of Christ’s return and his subsequent judgment, and he will act on every machination of his demented mind — holding nothing back and eventually launching an all out assault against the LORD and His Anointed.

With nothing to lose, Satan will combine every conceivable power at his disposal to resist the certain return of King Jesus from heaven to reclaim Planet Earth, much like the watchers attempted to do before the flood.

The Dragon and his alliance of 10 rebel princes will once again descend to the earth in godlike fashion offering irresistible knowledge to mankind, and having produced and prepared their own offspring as 10 hybrid kings to govern their end-times empire, the entire world will be enamored with the Beast and will worship the Dragon and deny the God of heaven.

Satan, being supreme in wisdom and more powerful than all the other evil princes will install his own human/hybrid son on the throne to rule them all — giving all power and all authority to this man of sin. The 10 rebel princes in league with the Dragon eventually will transfer all their authority to the Dragon and his seed [see Revelation 17:12-14].

The antichrist will come as the counterfeit savior of mankind in supernatural fashion — fully demonstrating himself to be “god” with many intoxicating signs and wonders. The son of Satan will convince millions to take his own genetic signature and receive his mark, which permanently perverts the genetic integrity of the human race and seals the souls of the ungodly to suffer the same condemnation in hell as the devil and his angels.

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’

[Matthew 25:41]

Satan and his hybrid son will again seek to either transform humanity into their own perverse image or eliminate humanity altogether. Either way, Satan will be on a kamikaze mission to face Jesus in an all out war of cosmic proportions, doing as much damage as possible to the very end. Yeshua reminds us that if those days were not cut short, no human being would survive, and yet for the sake of the elect, Christ will come in flaming fire to wage war on the son of Satan and his armies and will once and for all decimate his evil empire on that great Day of vengeance.

Bound for Tartarus

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. 2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.

[Revelation 20:1-3]

Before it is all said and done, Satan will have committed the same grievous abomination of the watchers by leaving his proper domain, inducing lawlessness in the earth, illicitly procreating his own hybrid son, all the while blaspheming the God of heaven to His face. Satan will take as similar path as the watchers and will suffer a similar fate.

And just as we would expect, what is the Dragon’s punishment? He and his co-conspirators will be bound in chains of gloomy darkness in the depths of the same bottomless pit for 1,000 years. The devil and his angels will be bound with the watchers for the final day of judgment when they all will be cast into the lake of fire burning forever.

The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered; for the LORD has spoken this word.The earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
5The earth lies defiled
under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant
6Therefore a curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left

On that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth.22They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.23Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and his glory will be before his elders.

[Isaiah 24:4-6, 21-23]

The past reveals the key to unlocking the future.
