We choose to listen to a different narrative.

The Information Age is the age of misinformation. Progress is regress. Media is madness. The wisdom of the world is foolishness. The cancel culture is a cancer, and “woke” is dead.

Which narrative are you listening to? From where do you get your information? Who is feeding you the “facts?” How do you know what is true anymore? Who can you trust? What should you believe?

Information is the commodity of this present age. Our minds — brilliantly designed organic computer systems more complex than anything on earth. And yet, our minds will only process what is fed into them. Input determines output.

Think about it.

Everyday we wake up to the stimulation of the senses and the bombardment of our minds with information. Images, sounds, sights and signals. Messages accelerating in every medium imaginable.

Internet. Google. TV. Networks. Podcasts. Pinterest. YouTube. Twitter. Facebook. Instagram. CNN. Fox. Posts. Blogs. Radio. Books. Magazines.

It goes on and on and on. Information overload!

And what is most troubling is that the overwhelming majority of these “mediums” serve as direct channels for the spiritual forces of evil to sow satanic lies and deception upon unsuspecting hearers.

In other words, the prince of the power of the air controls the narrative and therefore the masses. The devil is the “deceiver of the whole world” [Revelation 12:9].

That means that chances are you and I have become victims of the greatest mass manipulation and misinformation campaign the world has ever seen. Unless …

We choose a different narrative.

It’s time to wake up!

Step into the LIGHT

Sometimes one step is all it takes to change your life forever. One choice. One decision. One act of the will.

It is so easy to get swept away in the downstream current of the mainstream culture. It’s easy to coast and let the wicked and perverse culture just carry us to our destination of destruction. It’s hard to swim upstream and fight against the relentless pull of the world.

It’s easy to stare at a screen and mindlessly listen to the noise. That’s why it’s so dangerous. It’s too easy. Brain numbing cascade of lies pouring into our minds. How do we break the chain?

It’s like rolling over in the bed, pulling the covers over our head, and hitting the snooze button again and again. God is sounding the alarm, and it’s time to wake up and rise up and stand up and listen up!

That is our first step. We must change course. We must abandon ship. We must get off the couch. We must get off of the information highway of lies and step onto the narrow road that leads to life. Jesus warns us about how serious this first step really is.

“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

John 3:19-21

Open the Living Word of God

We will never wake up until we change the narrative. We will never change the narrative until we choose to listen to a different voice. We will never listen to a different voice until we open the Book of books and hear the words of the Living God.

Jesus again reminds us how essential it is to listen to His voice in the midst of all the competing voices of the world.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

John 10:27-28

Every time we read and study and meditate and memorize the word of God it is like flooding our souls with fresh, life-giving water that washes away all the filth of sin. It’s like flooding our darkened minds with the light of the sun. It’s like flooding our hurting hearts with the healing touch of God.

There is no greater use of the time than to hear from the Living Word of God.

If you fail to open God’s word and continue to allow the world to corrupt your mind with it’s lies, then that’s exactly what you can expect to be. A lost sheep. A wayward soul. A confused mind. A fearful heart.

This world doesn’t need more people to “get woke.” Woke is a joke.

This world needs God’s people to wake up!

Will you take that first step with me today?

But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
